MELISSA TURNER DRUMM
Melissa Turner Drumm is a Painter and Printmaker and more recently a Sculptor after an 18 month artist in residency as part of Cohort One at Cedars Union. Drumm’s education includes a BFA from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, the MFA Painting program at Bard College in New York and St. Martin’s School of Design in London, England. Drumm’s works explore family beliefs, practices and values. This stems from early fertility works for families, with a nod to Louisiana voodoo rites, through a trophy series and more recently celebrations and reflections of family in our lives at large. By continuing the long standing usage of an egg; lost wax bronze casting, 3d printing and mold making at CU have definitively marked Drumm as a Sculptor for the future.
