This panel will be moderated by DAAART Club president Christina Hahn who will be joined by Reyna Ramirez (CIMA) and Cathryn Mcclellan (Black Arts DFW).

The Dallas Asian American Art Club (DAAART Club) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating in Dallas, TX. With the aim of fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive community, DAAART’s aim is to counter the narrative of who and what is defined as Asian by the American mainstream and build shared narratives of their own. Through celebration of multi-disciplinary art making such as visual, performance, literary, or any other unimagined category, DAAART Club serves to uplift creativity in all forms through implementation of creativity as a form of unity and community building. DAAART Club believes, “We are stronger together. We want to create in community, not a vacuum. We seek to provide inspiration, constructive criticism, and feedback to one another. We share opportunities, skills, and networks with one another.”

CIMA is a Dallas collective whose mission is to connect the audience with locally produced art. We aim to exhibit diverse creations in the art industry through rotating shows, collaborative events, and teaching/learning programs for aspiring artists. As an art establishment that engages with issues that arise from marginalized communities in one of the fastest-growing metroplexes in the nation, we firmly believe in supporting the ideas and voices of local artists.

Black Arts DFW is the Black professional community bringing together those who want to engage in exclusive intimate events around Black arts and artists in their many forms. Their mission is to help build the bridge between Black professionals and Black Arts in North Texas to build a pipeline of Black arts patrons, philanthropists, and collectors. Black Arts DFW’s vision is to create a community where Black professionals can meet others interested in Black Arts and create exclusive experiences behind Black Arts in North Texas.
